Hot off St Hellens!

Post by robbo101 » Fri Jun 06, 2014 8:38 pm

Wow!
After getting my lovely girlfriend up at 6 and hitting the water at first light we ventured out for the 830 tide change, pulling about 6 flathead in the first hour it was not to bad. (Kate 5 to my 1... she let me know about it as well haha!)
It was then quite slow and we moved in closer to home due to the chop throwing my little tinny around and it was a bit breezy.
For the next couple of hours it was slow and after the wind dropped off again another move was on the cards and parked it about 1km straight out from the boat ramp.
After smashing the burley in hope of someone or something excited the next 1.5 hours was hot. Pulling flatty after flatty, most around legal, some either side.
To add to the fun I hooked something slightly heavier and pulled in a little shark! such a wicked species, amazing creatures up close.
After almost throwing in the towel at about 1 we left at 3.30 with 35 flat ties 2 gummy's and a banjo! wicked days fun.
Bait was pilchards and just pellets/ bait for burley.
Just ran a paternoster rig.
