Sheepwash and Barwon river

Hi looking for info on sheepwash.
They say Jews there and other smaller fish but looking for any tips location etc as new to the area.
I have seen reports of small baby gummy being caught there. Is there chance of table sizes
Also interested to hear about squid or flatty

What do you people think .

Land based and kayak fishing Geelong or surfcoast

Caught a lot of mullet n salmon at sheep wash..
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish,catch a fish

Yeah I’m not sure if I should take light gear or heavier rods.
Hearing about tidal flow what sinkers ?

Even just for a few hook ups would be alright on the light gear but I’m guessing couple hours max either side of tide

I’ve caught a variety of fish from there. Some massive trevs as well as mullet and salmons.

I have caught mulloway and elephant fish at the Sheepwash as well as plenty of salmon and mullet.

Nice what size sinkers did you use was it around slack tide . Will a 8oz hold when water is running .

I’ve only ever caught 3 Jews from Patterson river

I used whole pilchards rigged so they could swim in the current. I incorporated a marble sized sinker into the rig so it sat under the pilchards chin. The baits depth would depend on the speed of the current, but usually it would only be a metre or two below the surface. I also used live bait under a balloon from time to time. I fished mainly at night.
