Bellarine Peninsula Report

Post by hornet » Sun Apr 29, 2018 6:48 pm

My two fishing buddy's ring Sat and ask if I want to come fishing land based tonight ? ( Is this a trick question ? )

A quick stop at Mario's bait and tackle and we were off again, This has to be the best stocked tackle store in Melbourne !
Note guy's Mario tells me he has a website up and running if you want to take a look here http://mariosbaitandtackle.com.au/

So we aim the car down the high way to the Bellarine Peninsula, final Tally was me 4 whiting and 4 squid, Dropped 4 ting, my mates caught 4 whiting each and dropped a few also, we all came home with a feed so we were happy with that.

As a side note I helped to net a squid for a guy that didn't have a net ( wish I had a dollar for every fish I've netted for guy's without nets ! )

This beast went 42cm hood length, I used a cigarette packet for size comparison. Story is the beast was following jigs and baited jags but would not take them, in frustration this guy tied on a Halco 50gram surf lure and jagged him in the head, first time I've seen done !

Nice catch mate.

I think that was just pure luck jagging a big squid like that
