Easy Spot to Catch Fish?
Hello!
Being relatively new to the fishing world, I am seeking a spot where I can..catch fish! I do not care how big they are. I'm a kid that simply wants to...catch fish! I honestly do not care if they are only 5-10cm! Could somewhere please give me a good spot near Geelong where I could reel in a whole bunch of fish (all to catch and release).
Thanks a lot for getting this far down!
Angus

Re: Easy Spot to Catch Fish?
My advice if you are just getting started, is to head down to your local tackle shop and have a chat to the local folks down there for a bit of advice to help get you started and pointed in the right direction. Things are a little tough at the moment, but over the next few months as the days get warmer, the waterways will also warm up, and the fishing will get much better.

Like what Redhunter said.
My only other suggestion for beginners is to got buy some pre tied whiting snatchers and head down to barwon river ocean grove or barwon heads. Plenty of small fish for you to catch and practice on.

Like what KeenAds said,

Plenty small flatties down at cunningham pier if you use a simple paternoster rig with small size 4 hooks. Pilchard fillets weaved on or simple chicken breast strips will get you onto a few. Have seen the odd snotty trevs landed along with silver whitings. Goodluck mate

How far up the pier should I go to catch the Flatties? What size hook do a use? Do you think Pippies would work as well?
