Few reports over Easter period
Hi to all, on Good Friday fished on board of reel time charters with Matt Cini for kingies. We were at the rip, in 8 hours managed to locate only single school of fish and 1 guy pulled a 83cm fish, that was all for the day. From 29th of March I've stayed at Cumberland River Holiday Park (just after Lorne) for 3 nights. Tried Artillery rocks, Jump rocks and Lorne pier. Pier was dead, not many seen caught. But rocks were pretty good. Unfortunately dawn or dusk wasn't suitable for me so fished during the day on both occasions for few hours. At Artillery rocks pulled few salmon around 50-55cm. Also had this massive run with big head shakes, with 14 foot rod and Shimano XTA Long Cast couldn't stopped it, ran to rocks around the corner and cut 40lb fin off. Could've been either massive salmon or kingie, wasn't fighting like snapper or gummy.it was on whole pilly. Next day went to Jump rock, again middle of the day at low tide and managed to pull few more salmon around 50cm. I'm sure would've been much better at dawn because seen heaps of fresh blood and scales around the rocks leftover from anglers fished at early morning. Didn't bother to took any photo of salmons. If anyone heading that way try any of those rocks at dawn and preferably on low tide for safety. Tight lines.

At least they got one. Me and a mate went with that guy about 2 months ago now. Jiged for 6 hours. 8 of us on board not a single fish.barra mick wrote:8hrs in a charter boat for only one kingy??
