Hi. I'm going to be in the area of Lake Hume towards the end of march and thought I might give it a try. I hear there are Redfin, yellow belly, some trout and carp swimming around in there. I'll be around the southern end, Huon/Red Cliffs and land based. Has anyone got a quick précis on how to go about getting these guys? I plan to mainly use soft plastics but bait can be arranged.
Cheers.

Re: Lake Hume
I have no experience with the place but to help the people who do - do you have a boat or are you shore based?
thanks

Re: Lake Hume
Hey mate,
I spent a fortnight up there over new years fishing. If you have a car, the upper end of the Murray is your best bet if you want anything other than mid sized redfin. There is a boat ramp that's not marked on google maps immediatley at the bottom of the dam wall, walk downstream from there anywhere up to the bridge and i had a lot of success.
In terms of the actual lake all i got was redfin, usually an hour either side of sun up or sun down on small spinners and tassie devils.
