Nagambie 14th May 2019

Hey there,
With near perfect conditions we took the chance for a quick trip after work yesterday chasing an almost winter cod at lake nagambie (after all the lake has not had any fishing pressure of late  ) .
Plan was to hit the water about 5:30pm and fish until we either froze to death, got a metre plus cod or hunger drove us off the water.
Started flick surface lures as soon as we got there as sun was setting. Lures used on the top were Cod Dogs, Damiki Frogs, Balistas, Wake Snake, Zerek Stalker, and Pomadours.
On a whim I decided to flick as 2 x 2 orange Spinnerbait (my favourite colour) and second casted picked up a great little healthy cod. and that was it for the night.
Fished until about 10pm and really only left because we had not had a boof all night.

Nice effort anyway jed! I had great plans on spending countless hours on the Goulburn this winter bait fishing for cod. Would rather lure fish but I don't have the 'legs' for it.
After talking to someone the other day I realise it may be futile using bait in the winter months because of the crays. I can only try I guess.

The Zerek Stalker...have you had luck with them previously?

Also, in breaking news, I can't help noticing one of the last 4 x 4 orange Bassman spinnerbaits has walked out of the local tackle store! I am holding you responsible!!!!
Cheers

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
