Eildon Yellowbelly ???

Post by ChrisD » Fri Mar 08, 2019 7:52 am

Planning to head to Eildon next week.....after the long weekend crowds have cleared and the target species will be Yellow Belly
Yellow Belly is one fish that has eluded me and I am determine to get my first next week.
That said I have very limited experience with Eildon - having only fished it once before and most of that time was spent on the pondage.
I will be land based and of course bait fishing.
Can anyone offer any pointers on possible target locations and access around Lake Eildon @ Eildon?
Of course not looking for pin point locations- just some general ideas to get me started.

Ive caught lb on worms on a basic running sinker rig, never had luck using yabbies surprisingly (im sure others have).

Id try and target:
1. Steep rocky bank with trees
2a. Steep rocky bank
2b. Bank with trees

1 and 2a arent the most comfortable to set up at for a day, but will give you the most probability imo. You can also cast spinnerbaits and diving HBs for a chance while waiting on the bait.
