Hi guys,
I got a pompadour and the first session with it got a nice little cod, only problem he broke one of the wings off on the strike. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen? And if you can buy wings separately to repair?
Alternatively would i be better off taking the other wing off and have it in my tackle box as a more subtle offering? with only the single wing the swimming action is all over the place and it often does not catch water at all.

Re: Lure advice
That sucks mate, id be p!$$#d- but better to do so via a landed fish than it smashing against a rock or something.
I dont know about a replacement wing, but id guess no and would do your thoughts on removing the other wing to salvage it as a popper/prop lure

Re: Lure advice
Yeah was my first cod on the surface so that was consolation but annoying as they are not the cheapest lures.

Re: Lure advice
Mate, I bought few surface lures including pompadour and haven't caught any cods on them. Hopefully this wont happen to me.
have you tried asking local tackle shop that sells them? usually they can contact the distributor and might be able to suggest something.

Re: Lure advice
I’ve had pompadours for a fair while now and never had that happen, maybe they have changed design or something, contact your tackle shop or distributor they may exchange it, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: Lure advice
Had a boof at Nagambie on a Cod Dog lure which bent the bib totally forward on one side. those bibs are thick!
I would take yours back to the shop you got it from and see what they say. I have got a few cod on the Pompadour including a 70cm trout cod that almost scared me into the water when he hit. HA
Cheers Jed
