You can check the flow of these rivers also on the link I provided above. Sometimes the site does not behave itself...if so, then try it again later. The flow in the Ovens is not that dramatic this time of year as it does not carry much, if any, irrigation water. There is stuff all storage on it to provide irrigation water.

I was just up that way around the same time, but at Majors Creek. Perfect for kayaking ( Several people out doing just that). First time there and have been told and read that it can be good fishing. Unfortunately for me, just turtles. Lure fishing from a kayak wouldn't have that problem.

Hi all, I'm heading down the Goulburn from Alexandra to Probably Trawool over the weekend with my son and some friends in Kayaks. I'm intending to try some lure trolling, and an leaning towards using shallow swimming lures to avoid snags (which will mean less fish I know). River height seems steady at the moment. Any advice greatly appreciated... Never fished this river before.

Hoping the long kayak trip will be nice to break up with an occasional fish.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was this lovable character Seb. He dreamt of Cod and a tranquil day out fishing with his mate. The kayaks were paddling along in the idyllic scenery of a beautiful river.

Seb, love your work, having a crack , , , , and I bet your crack got a shock about a 7.7 on the Sphincter Scale.

Happens to all of us.

Hahaha Bugatti, you pretty much summed it up well. Was an epic adventure. Learnt the hard way. From now on, I will test the water by throwing a paper boat first :-)
And still dreaming of a nice kayak cod trip.

I've fished Alexandra before, it's more of trout fishing to me. Trawool kinda starting to look like cod fishing. Might still catch some trout or redfin though.
Cod wise, I'm no expert. For trout, trolling a 50mm minnow will do.
