gday.
as most people know lake mulwala will be run dry (down to 20% capacity i beleive) for maintenance in april/may. i am just after some info or advice about when the lake gets drained. i have heard that it is a good time to target big fish but i cant imagine how you would get anywhere near the water.
is it possible to fish when the water gets drained.?
cheers

Would be great time to go and collect some free lures which would be exposed in the snags I would imagine

You should be able to walk out there and see what gets caught in the lagoons. Hopefully no natives, but carp are welcome to get trapped, as they dry up.
Lake Hume gets quite low most years, and this is what happens there.
Otherwise, I expect most other fish will get concentrated in the river channel or what is left of the lake.
