Haven't caught a yella in a while, wondering what you guys use (including lures).

edit: Mainly fishing Murray or surrounding rivers and lakes in the wimmera.

they love size 3 / 2 stumpies, spinner baits, vibes and most other bibbed lures. Yabbies, worms and shrimp make good bait.

Yella's take most small to medium lures, one of the most effective ways to catch them is bobbing logs with a hook loaded with live shrimp, if there are any near the log your are targeting they wont take long to strike

All the above techniques will get you yellas, I also use soft plastics and frozen prawn from the supermarket, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Bobbing eh? Never gave it a thought, sounds like an idea though.

I reckon best baits (not lures) are:

1. one or more live shrimp;
2. yabby about 2 inches long;
3. yabby tail;
4. bunch of worms.

Best Wishes
