Well done Guppie, the Yarra is actually a great river to fish with a variety from roach to cod. Usually if you fish after dark the eels come out and can be a bit of a pest if targeting other species.

Guppie, it really depends on how far your mum wants to drive - and how far you are prepared to walk. For example, the Yarra upstream of Warburton near Reefton on dark can provide good fishing, for trout, blackfish and eels. Great scenery and mum might enjoy a cafe lunch in Warburton.

As to near Warrandyte are Sweeneys Lane, Reynolds Road, Laughing Waters, Linear Reserve and Jumping Creek Reserve.

Best Wishes
