Gut wrenching footage of cod loss.
Came across this on facebook and thought it was well worth posting here.
Rod is a well known cod guru and is making a good point and I'm guessing is honestly very upset at this black water event.

The "greenies" are not the problem. They are for the restoration of the native species.

Stagnant water, it has no oxygen and suffocates the fish, it effects the larger ones first, the smaller ones seem to survive, to an extent. Although this event is also effecting the shrimp and yabbies.yepi'mon wrote:For someone who knows nothing about this... what is black water and how is it caused?

To be honest it makes me feel f*****g sick to see these magnificent fish just rotting away.
l am no scientist but you would think there would be someway of preventing this or at least minimizing the damage.
