As the title suggests, that is what it felt like! Strong winds were blowing so I knew what to expect when I traveled out to one of the inlets. I was hoping for a trout or redfin on lures - most likely outcome would have been redfin. I was fishing on a ledge and honestly had to watch for rogue waves because there was definitely a chance of getting - wet feet. Apart from the wind, conditions weren't too bad - churned up dirty water from the shallows meeting incoming clean water. Distinct lines of dirty water vs clean water. I would have assumed there was plenty of food being churned up. I thought that was good but it wasn't too be. Ended up going to a channel which was a lot calmer of course, but only got one small redfin. Tried a Rapala CD7 in Hot Mustard Muddler color and then an old style Ondex spinner.
thanks
Jim

Re: Surf fishing Waranga Basin!
Rough stirred up water , funny how things look promising & you still end up with just a little reddie .
