Cod Opening 18

Post by davek » Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:25 am

I fished Cod opening for a few hours this morning, missed the first 'boof' on the second cast but a few moves upstream produced a nice 86cm cod off the surface.

Another few moves upstream hooked a 42cm model.

The river is lower than last weekend showing up some nice snags and pools.

Gee Dave you set the bar pretty high at the start of the season! :a_goodjob:

I'm stuck at work but will have a flick through the week.

You know mate we are pretty lucky here that we can go out boofing close to home. Further afield on the Murray there is more chance of catching a metery and there are other spots where you can get greater numbers but most trips I pick up one or two on the surface close to home.

It wasn't long ago when you you hadn't taken a cod off the top. Now you are doing it in a river where people say its hard to get one on the surface.

Its great the river is low. As I am writing this now you are probably out having another crack!

We might have to have a session again Christmas eve.

Best Wishes

Truedogz
