Yamane is a great trout colour, also try the iwama colour,
The new DR minnows from daiwa have pretty much all trout colours covered.

Most slim profile shallow running hard body's in natural colors will do the job. anything from 40mm to 70mm

I've been getting my lures of this bloke on ebay mikes_fishing_and_tackle they have free shipping and sometimes have 10-20% off sales.

Nice work Smoking reels. Trout fishing rivers is an incredible experience, although I would recommend long pants from now on.
As others have said lure wise most minnows will work.
Personally I'm a fan of;
Daiwa rolling crank jr
Daiwa Dr minnow 5f (both jointed and the currently jdm only non-jointed)
Daiwa presso minnow
Jackall Colt minnow (65 and 80)
Daiwa Double clutches (60,75 and 95)
Ecogear mx 48
Daiwa yogiri 4f
and would like to get a few Jackson trout tunes to try out
Generally matching the size of the lure to the size of the fish you expect to catch works well but occasionally there's bait populations that can mess that up.

Cheers Alex
