Ovens River at Bright.
Had a quick session on the Ovens river yesterday afternoon not far from the centre of town while my daughter had a nap in her pram. Elsewhere the river is moving very quickly but I managed to find a section where the water calmed down a bit. There was a really light south westerly blowing and an otherwise partly cloudy warm day. Beautiful weather. There had been about 15mm of rain overnigh and I decided to drift some worms, casting into the end of the faster moving water and allowing it to drift with the current and was rewarded on the first cast with a nice brown trout. That brown was to become dinner so shortly after cleaning him I kept at it. A few casts later caught a nice rainbow, who put up a pretty good fight. He went back in the river after a quick photo. My daughter then woke up so that put an end to a quick, enjoyable session.

If someone could let me know how to properly add these images to my post that would be great.
Cheers, Tom.

Cheers Lightning,
That brown was good eating; made a paste of garlic, chilli, thyme and olive oil, rubbed it on the inside of the fish, bit of salt and pepper on the outside and into the oven. It was a hit with the fam.

Nice trout, well done, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
