Benalla fishing

Hey guys, up in benalla for the next 2 days and keen to get out for a fish but have no idea where to start, there's just to much water to choose from! Thinking I might start tomorrow fishing around bridges on the broken and then try Nillahcootie on Tuesday but any other advice would be hugely appreciated! Would prefer lure fishing but if there's a certain bait fishing technique that works well I'm all ears!
Ive got gear for everything from stream trout to cod and everything in between so any starting points would be greatly appreciated!
Will put up a report with pics of how I go

i used to fish up there with my Pop when they lived up there.
We would bait fish the broken in places with scrub worms and shrimp/yabbies caught in traps while we were fishing.

Cam, a couple of places to try;

- Lake Nillacootie Rd - go down there and fish the top section of the lake with running rig & worms. We get yellas along that side of the bank. If its cleared up any, try throwing lures, although it shallow & snags.
- sandy creek rd gets you into the top of sandy creek, try throwing some lures in the holes.
- sandy creek off the midland hwy, we get reddies around the bridge
- broken river between lake nillahcootie & benalla theres reddies, carp & if you're lucky cod
- broken river below Benalla has some cod in holes, might be worth going into the benalla tackle store and asking the guys to point you to a hole or 2
- after that head across to the ovens river!

agree with ratbag..lake nilacootee well worth it.
