Set off this morning to the doon got there about 7 after playing dodge the wombat between euroa & merton.trolled around for a couple of hours between peppin point & chinamans hill, managed to lose a poltergeist and catch no fish. Spent the next 4 hours tied up to tree's with worms & yabbys on while we threw a few lures around, tried in depths from 15-50 foot.My mate managed a small reddy on a yabby, while all i managed to do was loose a spinnerbait & a stumpy i had the same yabby on all morning
I was fishless, thirsty & hungry and it was lunchtime so back we went loaded up and off to the pub for a counter lunch
Was a great day out,the lake looks fantastic full and everything around it is still green, cold beer & a good feed at the pub,who needs to catch a fish :D :D

Didn't go over Timi, got up at 5 this morning and it was blowing a southerly,we've been hanging around hoping it would die down and go over for an arvo session but this bloody wind doesnt look like stopping, so have unhitched the boat, nearly time to crack a tinny and watch the bikes, there is always next weekend.

Re: Bonnie Doon
Went there about 2 weeks ago twice. i am landbased:)
First day: arrived about 7am. As i was going to my spot, saw a ton of roaches and redfins jumping everywhere. Caught about 30 raoches,5 redfine and 3 big carp.
Second day: Arrived about 5am, after almost running over 1 million kangaroos that keep jumping out. Worst winds i ever seen in my life at that lake. 0 boats in the water. Catched a big carp and small redfin in 5mins, then went dead. Went to a new spot and caught a big carp in 5mins and then it went dead. Ended up going home with just 2 carp.
