That was a great days fishing. It makes it interesting when there's always something happening.

Well done mate! From the bank? I haven't even been to a river in months with all the rain we've had
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Yeh just slow rolling keeping it about mid water and at the same speed as the current with a slight jerk here and thereducky wrote:Were you straight retrieving the plastic or hopping it?

Cheers mate. Just walking along the river casting into likely spots.. runs, bubble trails, hanging trees.. whatever looks fishy.BIG GAV wrote:Well done mate! From the bank? I haven't even been to a river in months with all the rain we've had
pretty much all my trout fishing is done walking the banks.

I find trout hate pauses in the lure. Keep it moving and they hit it. See a follow and speed it up a bit. Pause it and they drop off.Sinsemilla wrote:Yeh just slow rolling keeping it about mid water and at the same speed as the current with a slight jerk here and thereducky wrote:Were you straight retrieving the plastic or hopping it?

I've found the same. A constant retrieve with a quick jerk here and there gets them fired up when they are just following a lure. they don't like a feed getting away from them.ducky wrote:I find trout hate pauses in the lure.
