Goulburn river 8th Sep.

Post by Sinsemilla » Sat Sep 10, 2016 4:11 pm

Hello everyone,

I had another nice little session on the Goulburn on thursday just before the weather went shitty. Started off the day late again at around 10am.

Didn't get much action until later in the day. Only got a tiny brown which flicked the hook after a few furious jumps, Also got a couple follows.

Once it hit around 2-3pm they came on. Got 3 nice rainbows in 3 casts out of one nice little run. Also got about 6 follows from some nice sized browns which came all the way up to my feet but weren't interested in taking the lure.

all fish were caught on small black and gold soft plastics.

Cheers, Anth

Nice work was hoping to fish that area this weekend but I suspect the rain will dirty the rivers up a bit too much.

Top stuff Anth great report, those B+G Sp's seem to be killing it on the trout everywhere.

I'd still give it a try. The water hasn't been clear at all the couple times I've fished.

Cheers mate. I reckon it's because the water isn't very clear and the black gives a good silhouette and the gold gives off that bit of flash in the murky water.
I found a slower retrieve works better also.
