went fishing last night at mordialloc pier at about 4:00 pm. When i got to the pier i realized that it was a perfect day for snapper fishing. wind was really strong coming from the southwest. waves almost going over the end of the pier. one of the local fishermen came up to me and told me tat a guy at the end of the pier caught a 6 kilo snapper 30 minutes before i got there. so i set up one of my surf rods and put a fresh tommy rough i caught the night before on the hook. threw it out and began setting up another rod. before i could get the rod set up i got a good hit on the first one. i reeled it in and saw a beautiful 47 cm snapper. it was the only one i caught last night but will make for a beautiful dinner. but not long after i caught the snapper another guy at the end of the pier caught a 1.5 meter 7 gill shark. was a beautiful fish and fun to watch him struggling to get it in. but still wish it was me catching it lol. rest of the night noting but tommy rough biting but was a great day fishing.

might go back out tonight just before sunset but doubt there will be many snapper around due to the wind from the north today they usually bite good on a southwest wind but guess there is always a chance of catching them. lol cooking up the last snapper i caught tonight and maybe get another to put away in the freezer for friday night dinner if im lucky lol

There was a 5.5kg snapper caught there over the weekend, I can link a pic if you really need to see it.
It's good that fish are there, but it's been plastered all over facebook now, so good luck finding a spot to fish now

Well you could have beaten them if anyone took any notice of where to fish when it is windy.
