Hi All,
Have been spending some time of late chasing carp in the shallows of Waranga Basin after dark. Mainly because I thought that carp would be all I can catch. I know these early cold months can be good for monster cod but I haven't heard of much happening. Instead of doing the 100km round trip to Waranga Basin tonight I did the 10km round trip to the Goulburn. Picked up this small cod on worms and dropped another smallish fish. From what I could tell my knot failed obviously due to me not tying it properly. Anyway, I am thinking now that it is worth chasing cod up until the season closes. I may also try some largish baits like carp fillets.
thanks
Jim
