Eppalock has risen to 72pc as of this morning with water still pouring in.if there is more significant rain over the weekend it is likely to overflow.

Looking at the photos on facebook last night, I think there is a good chance it will spill before the end of next week.
It'll be great for the area over Christmas time.

I think it's a case of when, not if. With the forecast rain next week :super:

Re: Any tips for Eppalock?
I was at the lake on Tuesday and it was like the tide was was rising .
You could see the level coming up as you watched it.
I was on an almost flat bit of ground and the water must have come up and covered 15 meters of land in a couple of hours.
The. Ida creek was running so hard it would have made a good slalom course for Olympic kayaks.
Looks like it will be good fishing once the levels settle down and the water warms up

I was at the weir today and the level is still the same as these shots taken.I assume they are pumping water down stream because there is still a lot of fast water in the streams.

85% now, thats a phenomenal rate of fill. How does such a rapid rise affect fishing prospects?
Lots of recently submerged ground, and critters for fish to feed on?

Freshwater fish love rising water there is more food for them to find. Many fish will be right in close but will spook easily.laneends wrote:85% now, thats a phenomenal rate of fill. How does such a rapid rise affect fishing prospects?
