Eildon today

Post by clarky9999 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 8:27 pm

Went to eildon with a mate today, put the boat in at the spillway at eildon and trolled some lures around to the eildon boat club and other arms all the way up to the entrance to fraser national park. Came home with 2 brown trouts both pan size. tied up to some tree's in one of the arms and used some worms and dragged in a small redfin(went back) and a yabbie with only one pincer. Damn camera was flat so no pics unfortunatly. Was a good day on the water.

Were you targeting trout when trolling or natives? I don't fish there but I hear it is a good native fishery.
thanks

Was trolling for trout with tassie devils of all different colours and a cheap lure bought on sale at a tackle store., Never caught anything off the bank with a lure but have trolling.

Went back to Eildon for the weekend and just got home, spent Saturday night on the banks of the Big River arm. Trolled lures on Saturday morning up and down the big river arm all the way till we heard cars on the Jamieson rd. Tied up to a tree for lunch and chucked in a hook with worms hunting redfin. Got a few bites but was unable to land a thing. Trolled our way out of the river into the arm and found another tree and managed to pull in a smallish redfin. This morning we left the camp and trolled once again for a while and ended up with 2 pan size browns. All up a top weekend and am planning the next trip up there.

Cheers
