better late than never report

Post by benders » Tue May 20, 2014 12:40 pm

In early may had then family at halls gap and managed to sneak off for a couple of sessions.
First was to Fyans as Wartook is still closed. Spent a lovely day in the canoe moving from tree to tree using worms , power bait, tassie devils, hard bodies soft plastics etc etc for no bites. The only other guys on the lake had been there longer than I and also had no touches.
The second was to Bellfield on a slightly blowy day but still warm enough. Ploughed through sidewash to get to the other side of the lake as I had seen plenty of boats on the halls gap side. Pulled up near a steep drop off in 7 metres and in 15 minutes pulled up 10 or so reddies with four to go home for dinner. Funnily enough if I put worms down one side of the canoe it was monstered and on the other nothing. Also lures got no hits. Only worms.
Headed home through the side wash and got back to the car drenched but content. Gotta love reddies.
