Tullaroop

Post by anthonydj » Fri Aug 05, 2016 9:12 am

Spent yesterday from 10:00 to 1:30pm enjoying the sun at Tullaroop. Wind was fickle as usual making float fishing hard, but ended up with a 5lb Brown on a minnow. Water on its way up...

I heard the same when I was down at Moorabool that I should try salted whitebait as well.

Yeh Marty you are correct. Spoke to a bloke yesterday who has been getting fish regular on white bait.... Heard of white bait being used at Bullen Merri..and Blue Bait a Hepburn Lagoon... Always like live bait rather than dead bait....

It might be the salt brine that the Whitebait are packed in that forms a sort of berley trail but I will definitely get some for my next trip.
Never used live minnows as bait how do get them with a net or bait trap??
Cheers
Marty.

Depends on where I am...Bait Trap sometimes, White Bait Net other times and even flatten the barb on a tiny hook and fish for them at other times (by far the most fun)
