Green Lake

Post by Freshfishin » Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:45 pm

Headed out to green lake this arvo after hearing last weekend that Redfin were being taken on gudgeon drifted on the bottom. After an hour of dragging a few of my favorite gudgeon spots in the Wimmera river, with no success, I dug a few worms out of my worm farm and grabbed a hand full of stump jumpers and hit the lake.
After an hour over drifting a few worms and no action on the sounder the game plan change to trolling stump jumpers proved that the stories of Redfin being caught to a kilo or more was right!
I took 2 reddies at 33cm and 37cm and a yella at about 25cm about 2 hours before dark.

Not the best shot of the lure, but it's a pinky redie sort of colour on the bottom and a cloudy white/clear on top

Been hearing some reports and seeing some photos similar to yours, they are on the move, now just gotta get away from work for a day... Great report and good fishing!
My hobbies are fishing and golf, I guess I just like frustration..
