I used to go with friends when I was around 8. Don't remember much except catching salmon, whiting, squid, trevally, and some pinkies in Waratah Bay out of the boat.

you can fish off the beach at the walkerville lime kilns, if you have a tinny could also launch from the beach there. was there over the long weekend and saw a pod of dolphins swim through chasing the salmon. at night you can catch flatties, whiting and gummies, there are plenty it is well protected in any south westerlies as well. parking can be a pain during the day.

Thanks a lot Poodoo. Stay at the cp there and have never fished but have just got serious and the kids are growing up so I,m going to fish a couple of hours each day and maybe at night. I know where the lime kilns are coz we walk past them to the far beach each day.Might go to Venus Bay one day or to Sandy beach if things are quiet. Each day Im going to try to catch dinner.

(Waratah Bay) Caravan park end - car park, fish between the car park and the caravan park I have caught good size pinkies and trevally at night (The large banjos are fun) all fish on a rising tide (3/4 to full), during the day you can get the odd lizard, as you come into the bay there is a camp (park east of the camp) I have caught gummies out there. If the weather goes RS go around to sandy point, on low tide you can safely drive around to the point (great fishing for the kids and you will pick up the odd nice whiting). Have Fun :a_goodjob:

Thanks a lot Forest. Only need to know what a lizard is. Is it a fish nickname or is it a lizard
