Hey guys,
Last summer off Lakes I had great success on the big red, catching fish up to 10kg. Since the Summer left us along with the big snapper I've been itching for the moment when they'd come back. I know around October is normally the time when they make an appearance again but I haven't heard any reports of those 70cm+ fish being caught just yet. If any people hear have caught one or know someone who has I'd love to hear about it.
Will post an update in this thread if I get one
Cheers

Miss T got a 51cm 6-8 weeks ago out at the reef. I’m having another crack tomorrow so hopefully I can report in with a HUGE fish

That's promising to hear, even though it wasn't a huge one. Good luck for today, hopefully you find a big oneElmer Stratty wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 5:47 pmMiss T got a 51cm 6-8 weeks ago out at the reef. I’m having another crack tomorrow so hopefully I can report in with a HUGE fish

Waters still a bit cold, but some medium size fish down the pipeline. Heaps of gummies around.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
