Yeah mate, honestly never really used lures, pretty basic fisherman! Will have to start getting into them I think.purple5ive wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 8:46 amare you using a hire boat mate? if you have some diving hardbody lures try trolling them behind the boat in the channel, you might get some salmon or tailor.

All just legal, catch and release as usual.
Got a gernard, fair few whiting and flat head, trevally and a Taylor, all just under size, on the boat today. Good fun though.

It's not that hard mate.SLE355 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 6:53 pmYeah mate, honestly never really used lures, pretty basic fisherman! If you have the time. Go into Caltex servo on the main street in lakes entrance and see Frank milito. Ask him for a hardbody lure you can use to troll in the lakes for some salmon or tailor. (Just buy one that's under 10 bucks . Most lures will work.for these fish) He can also rig it up for you on your rod and then tell you how to use it. It's not hard at all.
Basically throw it out the back, let some line out and engage the bail arm. Put the rod in the rod holder and drive the boat around the lake. If the salmon are there you will know about it. As the rod will buckle over. Then just reel the fish in. Rinse and repeat.
Just be carefull when other boats are around so you dont tangle with them and loose your lure and line etc
Cheers

Re: Lakes Entrance
Hi, Fishbref. I don't think floundering is allowed east side of the foot bridge. Cheers, muzza43.

Only got time for a quick fish off one of the jetty’s on Saturday, 5 small whiting. Better than nothing!
