There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

No haven't been to the bluff, was thinking about it. Might give it a go next week if we get a nice day. Pettmans would be worth a fish this week on the moon.
So many places so little time :fish22: :water:[/quote]
That’s always the toughest call. Where to try. If only I had more time. Yeah your on the money. Mate fished petmans today for 3 gummies. 2 not bad ones either.

Re: Season Starter.
Another fine day offshore today. Headed down the ramp at 6am. Slight ebb tide in the entrance but no issue dodging the pressure waves. Headed out to the rocks 4 mile south. Endless rubbish no pinkies. Moved around a bit to the west and caught a nice blue leather jacket and a Nanygai. No snapper and more rubbish. Water temp is just over 13c. Went in to the beach in 20 mtrs off Metung and drifted around. It was pretty slow. A few bulleye gurnard and a couple of octopus. I was debating with myself what to do next and kicking myself for not heading further west when I came out.
Stayed there drifting and had a few soft bites, then a more enthusiastic bite. Rod bent down but not enough to be a gummy. Pulled it up and knew it was a smallish flatty before it was in view. Mid 30s sand flathead. So stuck with it and caught another. Then a 30cm tiger. About half an hour later a 46cm tiger. It was starting to look like a nice session , but the next 3 fish were bulleyes and then a cod. Blah! So it was lunchtime and I headed in. :water:
Still haven't seen a decent Snapper yet but with 13c water temp it could be another week or two.
