He mentioned that road and if a 4x4 required
Cheers Gra
The road at Yeerung river is just a normal vehicle dirt road till you venture too far towards an old 4x4 road to pearl point (don't try it)
Stay close to the Cape Conran tourist park. get a map off their website and it will help you.
Its not open to the sea often, but there was a drowning there when it burst open years ago.
The 4x4 track is off ewings marsh road down from Newmeralla its a track at best a bog at worst.

i was not confident about catching anything on this trip but after reading all these posts im getting a little bit excited about next weekend now! :)
we will mainly be using SP's but ill bring a bait pump with us as well.
Thanks Baitworm for confirming the road to Yeerung river is fine for normal car. Found out a guy at work gies up to Cape Conran yearly and he did tell me Yeerung river rd would be fine too.
At the moment i think we will try French Narrows and Yeerung River and then hit Bemm if we dont do well. If we do well we will just stick to where ever we got fish since we only up there for 3 days
Thanks again all. WIll let u guys know how we go.

I looked up google to give you the spot at Yeerung we used to go.
But then by the map they moved the road.
It is now Launching way and Parks Victoria are promoting it as canoe/kayak waters, so now noise canoes tangled in your lines.
The secret is broken, school holidays its your choice, Frenchs narrows, the snowy, Bemm
Better you know a week in advance

Ahh k ill check it out still though. Being winter hopefully it will be too cold for anyone to think about the canoe. Was thinking about bringing friends hobie but its hard to stay dry in those

Do you fish from end of launching way to / and around the bend? or towards the bridge? both?

All good. Went satellite view and it doesnt look like theres much beach to walk along there. Ill try end of launching way and then maybe see if we can cross the outlet and fish the river on the beach side as it looks pretty good near the bend where theres a stretch of beach

If you look at the satellite view, where launching way turns back to the left theres a light grey section stands out from the rest of the vegetation.
That use to be where we parked and walked straight to the river and a rock shelf on the river.
now by the map they have moved it, and moved the car park further back to the West, for us we'll not be going back again.
Parks Victoria stuffing up another good spot.
Good luck.

Bream in the river, surf fishing off the beach.
To get to the beach is a walk as your on a headland, so your away from the car.
The camera is a good idea theres some pretty spots around there.
