One has been beached though the other night just near the bluff.
Big whoopsie
taken from the ABC Gippsland facebook page:

FRIDAY AM UPDATE: The fishing boat remains stranded at Lake Tyers Beach. The prawn trawler will be handed over to a salvage team if an effort to re-float it at high tide today is unsuccessful. No-one was injured when it ran aground.

THURSDAY AM: Ay Karumba! We usually hear about beached whales... but beached fishing trawlers are a little less common.
Fishermen on the Karumba Gulf trawler were on the hunt for prawns at Lake Tyers Beach, but they ended up a little too close to the shore.
They're still out there right now and are waiting on water police and their insurance company to get back to them.
We're still waiting on more info as to how they got themselves into this sticky situation, stay tuned!
Local surfer Trent Davis took these shots earlier this morning.

There is considerably less weed than a few weeks ago. Big seas here early in the week and I think it has shifted quite a lot of it.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

He is loving his 2 minutes of fame
