Going out Friday with a mate down for the weekend for a crack at the snapper.
Leaving from Lakes.
Worth a look at the pipeline or should we just hit the 6mile up??
Weather looks ok at this stage..bit of rain around but thats no prob.
Anyone heard any news...cheers.

Re: Any pipeline action?
Friday morning looks ok weather wise. Saturday is looking like strong SW wind. No snapper caught yet down the pipeline. Water temp is hanging at low 15c. Full moon Saturday, my guess they will come on in the next week. You might get lucky on Friday. Been some good gummies on the beach at the tower.
6mile has been poor for pinkies, better out a bit further.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

I've been reading that the red "Snot Weed" is pretty bad along the 90 mile beach. I was going to the Grange chasing sharks off the beach, but changed plans because of the weed.

Re: Any pipeline action?
I was correct, large snapper caught today at the pipeline by a few people. I helped out on a charter and we had a few nice fish on the reef about 6nm south west of lakes, So about half way down to the pipeline. Few large gummies caught too

Re: Any pipeline action?
The weather has not been kind the last couple of weeks. Finally got out today with a couple of other people. Fishing was patchy but managed to get 11 snapper/pinkies 4 mowies and 2 flatties . Largest snapper about 4-5 kg Pinkies 32-42cm. Just 7 mile from the entrance so not to much travelling.

Nice catch! I hear there is a heap of red weed about down west. Interested to hear if there was or not. I'll be out there Saturday hopefully get a feed.
