Lakes Offshore
Another great day offshore. Left at 5-30am with just enough light to see. Dropped the first line in at 6am and watched the sun rise. By 8-30 I had 11 fish. Bit slow for a start but came on about 7.30. Cracking rubber lip mowie just before I headed home. Back home and having a tea by 10am. :water:

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: Lakes Offshore
Whale pic was off Lake Tyers , nowhere near where I fished. Just after I had finished cleaning and vacuum packing my fish, the coast guard pager went off and we took the coast guard boat back out to jump start a boat 10 nm east of lake Tyers. Had time for some photos of the whales. There has been dozens of them this last week or so.purple5ive wrote:great report, do you generally fish that close to shore when offshore, or was that just a stop to take the pic..

While I was fishing 8 mile offshore, there was a constant procession of whales swimming past and splashing with there tails. When you are sitting there with the motor off you can hear them. Sounds like an explosion when the breach.
