New dredge
The new dredge arrived this morning. it will be permanently based here at Lakes. Primary job is to keep the entrance dredged to 5mtrs. :a_goodjob: https://www.facebook.com/tim.bullmp/vid ... 566316002/
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Pelican was a contract dredge it has retired. This new one is owned by Gippsland Ports.

It will maintain the bar and the channel up to Bullock Island. It may do a few jobs up the Lake. It will take the work load of the Kalimna. The Kalimna spends most of it's time clearing sand around Bullock island. Once everything is sorted then the Kalimna will go and do the entrance to the Tambo and the Mitchell. Both these river mouths have been approved for dredging but the Kalimna has not been able to get there due to work load.
