Cape Conran boat ramp?

Post by rohan201990 » Tue Apr 25, 2017 8:35 pm

Hi guys been doing a fair bit of research on the Victorian coast line and in regards to broadbill and have found a few spots out from cape Conran the only problem is I have never been there nor seen the ramp. I have a V19C and was wondering if it would be possible to launch my boat from conran.
Cheers tight lines

A mate has a v19 and launched from there about 6weeks ago. Chasing kingies he had no problem you just need the weather on your side

Make sure there is no South Westerly swell. Has to be flat calm or a little bit of North Easterly, Northerly. I haven't put my boat in there but I have watched many others launch and recover there. Definitely need a mate to help and watch out for the rock about 50 mtrs behind the ramp.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

i launch there at least 6 times a year,it can be a great ramp or a p**** of a ramp depending on tide,i try to avoid the bottom of low when putting in,it can get a real surge on it making it hard to turn ur boat around to head out.by the time u drive to conran it can be quicker to head out from lakes if u can carry enough fuel

125lt wont be anywhere near enough from Lakes.

Conran is an ocean ramp with almost zero shelter, swell can be problematic.

It is only Approx 10nm closer to go to the canyon from Conran. 37nm verses 47nm
