Whales

Post by re-tyred » Sat Nov 12, 2016 2:02 pm

There are so many whales offshore at Lakes, at the moment, that you have to keep a good lookout. Out on the coastguard boat this morning sighted around 10. Mostly Mothers and calves and a few large ,males?, breaching and tail slapping for attention. Been offshore 3 times this week, same everyday. I can see a few from my lounge window as well.
Quick snapper report: I haven't been out since Thursday but lots of big fish coming in. Going to give it a go tomorrow on the tinny weather permitting.. Seems most are coming in from the pipeline area.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

That's awesome.
I would love to see one in the flesh.

I'd love to see them while out on the yak but I'd be pretty nervous getting too close to them because they wouldn't even know I'm there and might tip me over or something
