Sorrento Sunday 18th Nov 18'

Post by Sinsemilla » Thu Nov 29, 2018 3:58 pm

Spent the day on the water in windy conditions to take a couple mates out who don't get in the salt that often.

Had a few drifts around rye and blairgowrie for a bag of squid (bright jigs did the damage) before we started looking for some whiting. The conditions made it less than ideal to sit at anchor but we persisted. After a while of nothing and a few spot changes we headed to the heads to see what was around.

We marked up what was definitely kingfish but with the current running hard and the strong wind it was nearly impossible to fish.

We got a good bag of reefies for dinner drifting over the reefs off point lonsdale before calling it a day.

It was a very average day fishing for me but the boys had a blast and we had a laugh which is what matters.

Sorry for not adding pictures, there wasn't anything caught really to brag about.

Cheers, Anth

We might have crossed paths at some stage.
Plenty of squid but no kraken.
Lots of good sized salmon. The RIP wasnt the place to be in that sunday.

I usually got a good eye for familiar boats. If i saw you i would have come over. There wasn't many boats out. The weather was shithouse, it was blowing like 30 knots by the end of the day

Still doesn’t sound like a bad day mate. A good bag of reef species for dinner and a bag of squid isn’t too bad. Having some laughs with some some mates is what it’s about. Nice work

Don't be a puss. It's just like the water anywhere else on a good day. I've seen boats half the size of yours in there catching kings
