Blairgowrie Pier 5/4/2016

Post by Stevieboy » Wed Apr 06, 2016 9:27 am

Went down to the pier at 5:45 last night first time I've been there. Fished till 7:15 for one whiting! Might not sound exciting but it was my first whiting I've caught so was definitely pretty stoked about it! Apart from myself nobody else caught a thing while I was down there. Plenty of people throwing out squid jigs for no luck. When I got there two young blokes where leaving had two bags with a few whiting or mullet couldn't really tell but that was about all the action that happened while I was there. One whiting doesn't sound like alot but I'm pretty happy to finally tick that off my list, only person not happy about it is the misses as I'll be cooking it up tonight for dinner for myself!! :-D

Good job mate. I've been there a few times but never really been successful. Few other guys on here have cleaned up there nicely.

Seeing it's just the one, I'd simply dust it in flour seasoned with salt and pepper then grill whole on a bbq hot plate with a little olive oil -yum!
