Landbased Squid

Post by Legend Simmo » Thu Nov 26, 2015 4:57 pm

Heading down to Rye on the weekend, hopefully in search of some squid landbased. Anyone heard of many swimming around the waters of the piers and jettys in the area?

Hi mate, personally I would head a little either way. Mornington is good for small squid, and Sorrento, bg and Portsea are proven performers. That being said u can catch fish off rye pier if it's local. I would probably make sure I had some plastics and metals to throw around too.

Interesting, I keep getting told red is the no1 colour. Will go and test some white ones. Cheers.

Every jig has its day in reality. When they are on every jig will get hit. However it pays to have multiple colours in the bag to see what they feel like.
