Gillies squid jigs

Post by Lightningx » Sun Jun 30, 2019 6:17 pm

Hey guys I was at anaconda just yesterday and saw a box with these gillies squid jigs. $5 each all sizes and i ended up getting them for $4 each maybe a club member discount?
Anyway Ive never used these but they didn’t look too bad so picked up a few.
Anyone used them and had any luck with them?
Cheers.

Not bad for $4 each at least if you loose one its not a big deal.
My pick of that bunch is the all white jig. And may I say have squid jig colours come along way since I started fishing. About 25 years ago there was blue, green, orange and pink and they all caught squid for me back then.

Thanks bowl!
I had a feeling for the price that they might not be the best quality but for $4 each I couldn’t go past them.
Cheers

Interesting they look different to the gillies squid hunters I’ve seen....

http://www.jmgillies.com.au/product/squ ... quid-jigs/

Interesting fact, they used to be the same as the anaconda home brand range which was Mojiko... they used to sell them for about $3. Pretty sure they are just a bulk Chinese type as I’ve seen some other cheaper brands with them.

Anyway, I’ve used them heaps and actually had a fair bit of lu k with them. The white has always been pretty good.

If I see them on sale now $5 or less I usually pick up a whole bunch of them.
