Post by nooga27 » Wed May 01, 2019 2:13 pm

Hey guys,

Been struggling very very hard on the squid lately, can't seem to find them anywhere!!

Has anyone been getting into them around Beaumaris, Brighton, black rock area?

Cheers and tight lines!

We have been cleaning up on squid over the last few weeks in the northern end of they bay with about 35 in 2 trips. But we struggled on Monday with only 2. Someone said another boat bagged out on the same day though.

Heading back out next Monday, fingers crossed.

This was filmed down northern PPB exactly this time last year..
We stopped fishing for squid after we landed 104 and went to chase the pinkies instead, if we kept going we would have got some stupid amount of squid I reckon…

Holy calamari!
Another reason why I should save some money to buy a boat.

Mt Martha rocks is thick with squid atm, not many big ones but every time I drive past the place my bucket seems to fill itself with calamari. Been getting plenty from Sorrento too. White jigs right on sunrise seems to be most effective.
