Another advantage of this setup is there’s a spare hub assembly ready to go with bearings and seals all greased up ready to go.

Good idea to have them set up ready
Pa use to have it that way but the tire ended breaking down before he ended up using it as a spare.
I dont recall him ever saying if he regreased the spare hub lol

I'm thinking of setting up something similar. I'll probably rotate a wheel every 6 months or so just to keep the longevity in both the tyres and the bearings.

drop down beach wheel wont work on my trailer, i dont have a straight drawbar, mine is a "V "shape, hence why im using a swing up style jockey wheel that must be able to rotate.
otherwise i would have done that already no doubt about it.

the jockey wheel only sunk in because my cousins couldnt work out which was was up and down, both those fools were just wasting time working out stuff that i already told them 100 times while i was in the boat waiting for them to get their act together.
not to mention not undoing the towbar tongue latch, and winding the jockey wheel up and wondering why the car was lifting and trailing not coming undone. (obviously sinking the jockey wheel into the sand in the process as well....
as i said ROOKIE mistakes, these guys should not be fishing out of a boat on their own , but i take them with me so they can learn.
