Decent session in mornington

Post by A-a-ron » Fri Apr 27, 2018 6:16 pm

Hey everyone, had a decent squid session with the missus today out at Mornington pier. Got 6 squid all up in two hours. Couple 18/19cm hoods, couple 14/15cm hoods and couple 12/13cm hoods. Missus got her first squid and keen for a feed of fresh calimari. I’m going out tomorrow with the fresh bait for some gummies to get my feed. Pink and white jigs done the damage with some added scent that made them nuts.

Sorry it won’t let me load any photos.

Nice that they're a bit bigger. Still going for the pink as they have for weeks now. Were they hitting on tide change or just over the day?

Yea missus had the pink and dropped a few but got a couple. I had the white and landed 4 and dropped a few. At one point had four of them fighting over the jig. It was about an hour before end of low and an hour after. Most productive time was around when get got there at 2:30-3pm with 4 landed in a matter of 30mins. The use of the scent gel made a big difference too.

Seeing 4 fighting over the jig would have been exciting to watch!

Yea was pretty funny they all surrounded it then the biggest one smashed it. Missus loved seeing that and when they’d chase the jig in close but not go after it.
