Beat the bejeeses out of them on concrete and they soften up nicely. :banana:

I understood a fisherman's wife's job was to beat them on the rocks.....until the freezer got invented, which did the same job.

I caught one once in westernport I brought it in lifted out of the water when I saw the blue spots I withdrew my hand pretty quick and cut it off
