It's been a while

Post by Wolly Bugger » Wed Dec 13, 2017 9:13 am

It has been a fair while since I have been squid fishing landbased. My son said he wanted to go for a squid fish, land based. So the next decision was where to go?

Decide to start at Sorrento and work our way up the bay, if Sorrento did not produce. When we arrived there were perhaps a dozen people fishing from the pier and catching a few squid. It wasn't long before we found our patch of squid. In all we caught 8 squid before calling it a night.

The stand out jig was the Yamashitu NUMG. I remember once using that jig to see a dark shape dart out from under the pier. The dark shape was a penguin who decided to have a closer look at the jig before darting back under the pier.
