Slow sinking jigs landbasehell

Hello ,,,been doing a bit of shallow landbase fishing for squid....2 to 6 feet ish
..,
Only lost 2jigs in 3sessions...,but it's 1,2 1/2 n then jig rod otherwise it's snag time...

After some slow sinking jigs that u can also cast a fair way.
Any info be great :water: .

most brands do slow sink jigs mainly in 3 and 3.5 sizes. bloody hard to find instore though. and you pay through the nose for the privilege.

worst case, get the side cutters out and take a few nips out of the lead on jigs you have. won't need much removed.

Yeah if I drill or cut to much metal , I will lose distance casting.
Probably ask rui on Facebook aswell

Reduction in the weight of the jig is how the commercially available jigs achieve a slow sink rate as well. The only things that will differ that I'm aware of are knowing and replicating an exact sink rate and the possibility of mutilating the sinker and effecting the action (drilling should negate this).

If you are worried about cast distance alter a larger jig. body of jig will add weight and slow the sink down allowing for slightly more lead and an even heavier jig overall for a given sink rate

there's only a couple of gram difference between a normal sink and slow sink. something like 21g vs 19g in the haramitsu 3.5g. your cast distance won't be that affected. try it with an ebay jig first if you're worried. and yes drilling is probably the way to go
